Throughout the journey of developing Glaass, we’ve placed continual emphasis on updating and refining our products feature set in pursuit of perfection. We’ve reworked entire revisions to deliver this promise. Yet during this time we’ve maintained a mindset to create tools designed for all construction professions. It was clear from the beginning we wanted a platform that enhanced the workflow of foreman, engineers and project managers. As construction professionals we understand these roles and their functions acutely, allowing us to critically examine their deficiencies.
We see foreman relying too heavily on paper, engineers too much on email and project managers too involved in spread sheets. Some processes require modifications, and others a completely re-engineered solution. Modifying processes is what most see first, they aren’t that hard to solve, because half of the equation is already somewhat right. It’s the tools construction teams want, but haven’t thought of, that are the hardest to design. That’s what we’ve strived to deliver in all facets of Glaass.
The one we’re proudest of is Glaass Analytics. Possibly our biggest innovation, Glaass Analytics revolutionises the way senior managers oversee the real time performance of their projects, all in a matter of seconds. There’s no time wasted collecting data. No hassle formatting spread sheets. No stress creating graphs or tables. It shows you how your project and team are performing, at any given time, for any activity. Teams have never had this much control over their project.

The inspiration for Glaass Analytics came from our start-up’s workflow. As we progress through prototype builds we wanted to understand where we were succeeding, and where we could improve. When you truly understand your project’s weaknesses, you’re empowered to make measured and assured changes, rather than simply guessing intangibly. Successful teams believe in measured results because they realise numbers don’t lie.

Unfortunately for our startup the only way we could retrieve this analytical information was to manually count data. It’s an extremely tedious procedure laced with a high likelihood of human error, however it provides us with a decent overview of our performance. Only then can we fine tune our operation to make the necessary changes to work more efficiently.
With Glaass Analytics, the challenge we set ourselves was to give managers an in depth analysis about their project fast, without any impediment. We’re able to deliver this because we’ve based our product on functionality, rather than features. In a previous blog entitled, The Unimportance of Features, I wrote “When you have a product designed on the foundation of functionality, like we have at Glaass, you turn features into practical tools that proactively enable teams to complete work in an efficient manner.” That’s exactly what Glaass Analytics is, a highly efficient tool designed for managers, made possible from our products depth of functionality.

So how exactly does it work? When your team are working on Glaass sending concrete orders, non-conformances, test requests and purchase orders; Glaass records background data. That’s it, there’s no additional steps to remember. Viewing your projects analytics is even easier. Managers choose the period, team members, activities and Glaass does the rest. There’s a summary view which provides a concise overview with beautiful graphs, perfect for a quick snapshot or to include in a monthly report. Supercharging this, we’ve created a detailed view which provides an in depth analysis of each specific activity with dates, times and references. It truly is a breathtaking experience using Glaass Analytics.
It truly is a breathtaking experience.
It’s an extraordinarily powerful, yet stunningly simplistic tool that empowers managers to make precise changes to their project with complete certainty. It’s what construction teams have always wanted, without even knowing it.
