We are thrilled to announce that Glaass has secured another significant transportation project, this time with Terra Verde JV for the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) Package D project. Terra Verde’s joint venture includes Webuild, GS Engineering & Construction, and Bouygues Construction Australia.

The Suburban Rail Loop is a transformative project aimed at enhancing Melbourne’s public transport network by creating a 90-kilometre orbital rail line that connects major suburbs and employment hubs. The $2B+ AUD Package D contract focuses on the construction of key sections of the loop, including new stations, tunnels, and associated infrastructure.

Key highlights of the project:

  • Scope of Work – The project involves the excavation of 10 kilometres of twin tunnels and 39 cross passages between Glen Waverley and Box Hill. It also includes the construction of two station boxes, two tunnel access shafts, and one intervention and ventilation shaft.
  • Sustainable Infrastructure – The project will incorporate sustainable practices and materials, contributing to Melbourne’s goal of becoming a greener and more connected city.
  • Advanced Technology – Four tunnel-boring machines (TBMs) will be used to excavate the tunnels, ensuring precision and efficiency. These TBMs are equipped with the latest technology to minimise disruption to the surrounding environment and communities.

Glaass will be providing comprehensive QHSE services for the team. This collaboration with Terra Verde JV is a testament to our expertise in managing complex infrastructure projects and our dedication to supporting the development of sustainable and innovative transportation solutions.

We are excited to embark on this journey and look forward to contributing to the success of the Suburban Rail Loop. Stay tuned for more updates as we progress on this exciting project!
