Everything Coming in 6.1
Released in mid-March, Version 6.0 was our most significant update since debuting Glaass. We’re closing in on a new round of features in pursuit of creating the ultimate construction management platform for contractors; this is what’s coming next.
Our 3 Design Rules
Whenever we design new elements in Glaass, we strictly follow three core user interface principals. These are in place to ensure our new features align with our existing design ethos and are so easy to use, they require no explanation or training. These are our rules!
Release Notes Version 6.0
6.0 15th of March 2017
Welcome to the biggest release of Glaass since our unveiling. Version six is an entire back-end optimisation focused on increasing performance and stability by adopting advanced web development techniques. This update delivers colossal performance improvements, interface tweaks throughout and an assortment of new features.
Why we delayed our biggest release
I was in two minds as to whether I should share this or not. I was uncertain if it would be interpreted as failure or even poor leadership. My reasoning for sharing is simple; I want Glaass to be a company that stands for transparency. Not sharing would go against our core values.
Last month we announced the release of version 6.0 for late-February 2017. That’s unfortunately been moved to late-March 2017. We began development of version 6.0 in November 2016, immediately after the release of version 5.2.
Glaass’ Fundamental Aspect
In the early stages of designing Glaass we faced a decision that would go on to impact a major component of our platform – how to best record, organise and manage project data in a way that is accountable, traceable and inherently simple. We found a way, and it’s called cases.
You might be wondering, what on earth is a case? It’s an entire thread of correspondence, information and data about a particular task or problem in one place as a permanent project record.
Glaass Enterprise Training
We designed Glaass with a vision for it to be used by everyone on a project. Regardless of your technical skills, Glaass enables you to access important project information that empowers you to perform your role quicker and easier than any other platform. Of course, introducing Glaass on a project is a change for any organisation, which is why we’ve created a training session to help your team get started, here’s everything you need to know about it.
Glaass Update 2.0
2016 was a feature-filled year for Glaass; we celebrated our public launch, transitioned from a startup into a small company, deployed four major updates and held presentations with forward thinking construction companies across the world. With our attention now locked on the year ahead, we wanted to share a brief update with our followers, this is update 2.0!
Glaass Introduces Customisation!
Customisation is here! After months of planning, developing and extensive testing, we’re excited to release our powerful customisation feature. Users with Document Controller permission can now customise cases to suit any construction or engineering discipline.
How We’re Digitalising Construction
Microsoft Office files are unfortunately synonymous amongst construction and infrastructure projects around the world. There’s no denying using Office documents to record your project is an inefficient and outdated business process. What’s worse is that these files exponentially increase a projects physical paper trail. If that’s the case, then why is Office so popular? It’s because it’s highly versatile. It’s customisable to virtually any application whether it be an inspection form, concrete test or defect register. That’s the strongest asset of Office.
Artists & Influencers Part 1
Artists and influencers is a series dedicated to the people I’ve drawn inspiration from throughout the journey of creating Glaass. The catalyst of any creative venture is a culmination of experiences, surroundings and beliefs. These are the people who’ve shaped my art.
